What is Mulberry Cultivation?

We cultivate all three species of Mulberry trees across multiple locations in Kenya, adhering to eco-friendly farming practices that prioritize sustainability and environmental stewardship. By utilizing organic methods and minimizing the use of harmful chemicals, we ensure that our Mulberry plantations not only support healthy silkworm populations but also contribute to the preservation of local ecosystems. Our commitment to green agriculture enables us to produce high-quality silk while fostering biodiversity and promoting long-term environmental health.

What is Silk worm rearing?

In our state-of-the-art, germ-free workshop spanning over 5,000 square meters, we meticulously manage the growth and reproduction of silkworms to ensure the highest quality silk production. Our controlled environment guarantees optimal conditions for the silkworms, from egg incubation to cocoon formation, minimizing the risk of disease and contamination. This rigorous approach allows us to produce superior silk fibers with exceptional strength, luster, and uniformity, setting the foundation for our luxurious silk products.

What is Silk Production?

The production of silk begins with harvesting cocoons from silkworms, followed by stifling the cocoons with heat to kill the pupae. The softened cocoons are boiled to ease unwinding the silk filaments, which are then reeled into raw silk threads. These threads undergo degumming to remove impurities, dyeing for color, and spinning to create uniform yarns. The yarns are woven or knitted into fabrics, and the final product is finished to enhance texture and durability. Throughout, quality control ensures the silk meets high standards of strength, luster, and uniformity.
